The Circular Communities Scotland team would like to extend a huge thank you to our members, stakeholders and other representatives from the sector for joining us at our 2023 Annual Conference ‘Uniting for a Circular Scotland’ and contributing to it’s success.

Hosted at the RADDISON BLU Hotel in Glasgow on November 15th, our 2023 Annual Conference and Exhibition welcomed members old and new, partners, key industry speakers and suppliers to the sector, to come together and network.

Our theme of ‘Uniting for a Circular Scotland’ focused on our call for unification across all social, political, and economic divides to create a more circular economy in Scotland.  As the climate crisis deepens and the cost of living continues to rise, it was more important than ever that we came together to discuss how we make meaningful and impactful change.

We were delighted also to launch our 2023 Impact Report of the same name, ‘Uniting for a Circular Scotland’ which celebrates our members, who are ‘on the ground’ across the country, responding to changes in standards of living for communities, and providing life changing services, which protect the environment and have invaluable social outcomes.

Special thanks to our host Dr Heather Reid, and our key note speakers; Minister for Green Skills, Circular Economy and Biodiversity Ms. Lorna Slater; Dr Jane Beasley, Zero Waste Scotland; Laura Young, Less Waste Laura and Ceris Turner-Bailes, WasteAid.  We were proud to showcase the following partnerships this year in which our members play an important part – Highland Community Waste Partnership (HCWP) and CycleHub.org. Georgina Massouraki, Keep Scotland Beautiful and Laura Donnelly, Transition Black Isle both spoke about the HCWP whilst Scott Francis, Angus Cycle Hub and Laura McNeil, The Bikery, Gordon Rural Action represented CycleHub.org.  Presentations delivered on the day can be viewed by clicking the links below:
