This is the dedicated third sector event for Scotland’s reuse, repair and recycling sector. Hear from our sectors key figures and keep up to date with what is happening in Scotland’s resources sector.

Dr Heather Reid, OBE (Heather the Weather as she is affectionately known) will join us again this year to host the event, and Lorna Slater MSP, recently appointed to the position of Minister for Green Skills, Circular Economy and Biodiversity, will officially open the conference.

We are delighted and excited to feature Scottish racing cyclist and inspirational speaker Graeme Obree. Graeme, nicknamed The Flying Scotsman, is a world record holder and world champion. Known for his ‘Old Faithful’ bicycle which he built in his kitchen from parts of a reclaimed washing machine, we can’t wait to hear his take on keeping the faith in these challenging times and the power of reuse. In addition, we have a packed programme encompassing key sector speakers, member spotlights and themed breakouts.

‘The Expo’ will be our Digital Market Place where delegates can connect with different exhibitors. Delegates will be Circular Communities Scotland members, with stakeholders, local government, funders and private sector organisations also in attendance – there will be plenty of networking opportunities – formal and informal!

This has been an extraordinarily difficult 18 months, due to the twin challenges of Covid-19 and the climate emergency, and we continue to focus our efforts on the successful recovery of our sector. However, we also believe this is a time of opportunity, with a newly appointed Minister with Circular Economy in their title and the eyes of the world on Scotland for COP26. It is important that we share in a vision for a circular future and work together to bring that vision to fruition.

Managers and senior staff please consider encouraging your staff, board members and volunteers to attend.  The conference is modestly priced for Circular Communities Scotland members and with no travel time or travel costs involved, this is a great opportunity to enable multiple people from within your organisation to participate and keep abreast with what is happening in the sector.

This event would not be possible without the support of our sponsors and we wish to say a very big thank you to our headline sponsor Zero Waste Scotland and our event sponsors Better World Books; Just EnterpriseKeegan & Pennykid Insurance Brokers; Kudos Software; REPIC; RMAS; ThriftifySocial Enterprise Academy; Social Enterprise Scotland and The Verdancy Group.

* Circular Communities Scotland member tickets to this year’s digital conference are just £25 (non-members £50).
