Circular Communities Scotland is delighted to launch our 2024 Pockets and Prospects Fund designed specifically for our members.

The “Pockets and Prospects Fund 2024” is a £6,500 micro-fund which has been made available by the Scottish Community Alliance, to help our members deliver a more circular economy within areas of significant socio-economic disadvantage, while relating to their core purpose as an organisation. For 2024, the specific focus is to support communities with current cost-of-living pressures.

We believe that our members already have a good understanding of their local communities and will have strong ideas about how this money can be invested to deliver a more circular economy in disadvantaged areas within Scotland.

We particularly welcome applications from smaller member organisations who may not be as experienced with making funding applications and for whom this micro-fund would be more accessible and significant. Where two applications are of equal merit, priority will be given to the smaller organisation.

Fund Details & Eligibility Criteria

The applicant organisation must be a current Full Member of Circular Communities Scotland.

You can apply for up to £1,000. Funding can be used on either capital or revenue expenditure. It is possible that we may offer partial funding if funds are over-subscribed.

Your application must clearly demonstrate additionality in how the money will be used.  This cannot just be a contribution to your normal running costs.

The project must support people and communities in areas of socio-economic disadvantage.  Your project must also have a clear link to the environment and demonstrate how you will deliver a more circular economy.

You should also state how you will measure and report your impact – both quantitively (e.g. how many people come to a repair café) and qualitatively (e.g. the feedback they give you).

Recipients of previous Pockets & Prospects funding awards may apply if they have completed and submitted an end of project report.

The closing date for the 2024 Fund is the 16th February 2024.
